The Drivers

AL FAISAL AL ZUBAIR

Nationality: Omani
Date of birth: April 17th, 1998

Al Faisal began racing in BRDC British F4 in 2015 and claimed one podium finish and was placed fourth in the Autumn Trophy. He went on to finish 12th in the 2016 BRDC British F3 Championship with Fortec Motorsport.

The Omani began to forge a successful early career in GT racing and, after a winter testing programme, he took part in the 2017 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, finishing fifth in the overall standings and clinching Rookie and Silver category success in his debut season in GT racing.

Bitten by the racing bug, he went on to secure back-to-back titles in the 2018 and 2019 Porsche BWT GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East with a Porsche 911 GT3 run by Austria’s Lechner Racing. Al-Zubair won 12 races over the two-year period and became the first driver to win successive titles in the championship’s 10-year history.

In addition, he competed with Lechner Racing in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Porsche Mobil Super Cups that ran in conjunction with European rounds of the FIA Formula One World Championship.
After the global travel restrictions enforced in 2020 and the early part of 2021, Al-Zubair returned to racing action to finish second in the Pro Class in the 2021 International GT Open with four race victories.
In 2022, he claimed one Silver Cup win in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and fifth place in the Hankook Dubai 24H.

He began the 2023 season in superb style by sealing back-to-back victories in the third and fourth races of the 2023 Asian Le Mans Series at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi with Luca Stolz and Martin Konrad, clinching second in the championship after finishing third and seventh in Dubai.
Al-Faisal teamed up with Fabian Schiller to tackle select rounds of the International GT Open, the pair finishing first and second at the two races in Portugal, second in Barcelona and first and third at the Hungaroring.

Al-Zubair teamed up with Fabian Schiller and Anthony Liu to drive the Al-Manar Racing by GetSpeed Mercedes in the 2023/2024 Asian Le Mans Series. The trio finished fourth at Sepang and second in Dubai but missed out on title success after finishing 10th and eighth after a drive-through penalty at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Al-Faisal has a varied programme of select events in 2024. He teamed up with Dominik Baumann, Martin Konrad, Fabian Schiller and American racer Anthony Bartone for the Hankook Dubai 24H, but technical issues put paid to the possibility of finishing second.

He then joined forces with Mickaël Grenier to tackle select rounds of the International GT Open and with Grenier and Austrian Dominik Baumann for the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS Endurance Cup at Paul Ricard. Al-Zubair and Grenier were first and fourth in the two International GT Open races in Portugal and Baumann joined the duo to finish second in the Gold category at Paul Ricard.

Al-Zubair and Grenier then scored a memorable overall victory in the demanding GT Open 500 at Spa to lead the championship after three rounds. But the jewel in the early season crown was winning the Gold Cup category and finishing seventh overall in the flagship Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa at the end of June.

For 2025, Al Faisal begins a new chapter with AlManar Racing by joining forces with the championship-winning Belgian outfit, Team WRT, and switching to BMW machinery. The partnership got off to a perfect start, as Al Zubair, alongside Dan Harper, Max Hesse, Darren Leung, and Ben Tuck, secured overall victory in the 2025 Michelin 24 Hours of Dubai – marking a winning debut for AlManar Racing with BMW and WRT.
